Position: Herdsperson

Location: Wiltshire

The Farm:

This well equipped and progressive 2000 acre mixed farm is milking 550 cows. Calving is done all year round. They rear all own replacement stock. Milking is done 3 times a day in a 60 point rotary parlour. The herd is housed indoors all year round on wood chipped cubicle beds. TMR feeding is used.

The Position/Applicant

We are seeking an experienced herds person for this role who is progressive and forward thinking.


This role will be focusing on herd health and requires a high level of attention to detail.

The applicant must be proactive with experience in mobility scoring, foot trimming and AI.

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out milking once per day.

Suitable accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant.

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.

General Farm Worker/Milker, Dumfries, Scotland. Ref 694  -  Enquire about this vacancy»

Position:   Milker and general farm worker.

Location:  Dumfries/ Galloway
 
The Farm :

This family run dairy farm has a nice herd of 350 cows.Milking is done twice daily in a modern 24/24 Westfalia parlour. Cows are grazed in summer and cubicle housed in winter.

The position /applicant:

The main focus of this role is milking twice a day with  emphasis on good milking protocols and proper cow husbandry.

They are seeking a person with some milking experience, who is still keen to develop their skills. Working hours is expected to be approx 50 hrs per week.

Accommodation is available to the suitable applicant in a mobile home

This is a contract position where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This family run dairy farm has a nice herd of 400 mixed Holsteins, Jersey cross.

Milking is done twice daily in a modern 40 point rotary parlour.

They are seeking a person with limited milking experience,who is keen to learn while working under supervision. Working hours is expected to be approx 50 hrs per week.

Position: Experienced Tractor Driver

The Farm

Our client  has a 650 acre arable and contracting farm and is now seeking an experienced Tractor Driver on an ongoing basis.The job will involve operating machinery for silage, ploughing and cultivations.

The Applicant

The successful applicant will be an experienced operator of similar machinery.They will need to have the correct licence to operate on public roads.

Temporary accommodation is available on farm initially, but locally sourced accommodation can be arranged later if required, depending on the needs of the successful applicant.

Position :   Tractor Driver/ General farm worker 

Location: Worcestershire

We are seeking a tractor driver / general farm worker  to join our clients well equipped dairy farm with a 220 cow herd. 

The Farm and the Role

This farm runs a 220 dairy herd which is housed all year round.  

We are now recruiting a tractor driver / general farm worker to carry out slurry spreading with slurry tanker with umbilical system and other general tractor duties as required.Occasional  milking duties will be required to cover emergencies/holidays, so the successful applicant must have experience with milking and handling stock. 

The Successful Person:

  • Must be a competent and experienced tractor driver.
  • Must have telehandler certificate.
  • Knowledge of TMR feeding an advantage.
  • Must be reliable and flexible.

Accommodation is available with this position, mobile home is available on the farm.
